Tasted two times in November 2017, from two different lot numbers. The 2007 Brut Millésime Amour de Deutz (LA11D07616) displays a bright but luminous citrus color. It has a deep, fresh and complex yet very fine bouquet with chalky lemon and lemon grass flavors intermixed with old, small and thick-skinned pear variety flavors, pineapples, crushed stones, fig mustard, ginger, licorice, green walnuts, hay and mushrooms. It's not as clear and brilliant as I remember from other vintages, but it is nevertheless pretty fascinating. I am just wondering about the white champignon, hay and walnut flavors... Full-bodied, rich, round, intense and highly elegant, this is a mouth-filling and juicy yet structured Chardonnay Champagne with a complex and well-structured yet slightly bitter finish. This should be a great Champagne, but I am not sure I have the very best bottle. Would any sommelier accept that this is a cork-tainted bottle?

Vinous
Hints of toast, vanillin, lemon confit, brioche and baked apple give the 2007 Brut Millésimé Amour de Deutz lovely aromatic complexity. Fresh, vibrant and chiseled on the palate, the 2007 exudes vibrancy. This mid-weight, understated Champagne is pure class. Don't miss it.

The citrus-colored 2008 Amour de Deutz Brut Millésime is still yeasty on the nose, but very clear and elegant on the palate. This is a super pure and mineral, well-balanced Millésime with a long, intense and persistent finish. This is full of tension and finesse. A great wine.

The 2008 Brut Millésimé Amour de Deutz is gorgeous. Bright and focused in the glass, the 2008 is full of nuance. A hint of reduction adds complexity without overpowering the wine. Crushed rocks, lemon confit and passion fruit flavors offer an appealing interplay of brightness and more overt flavors. The Amour is one of the more open, accessible 2008s readers will come across at this stage. Today, it is particularly expressive.

The 2009 Brut Millésimé Amour de Deutz wafts from the glass with a pretty bouquet of ripe citrus oil, fresh peach, white flowers and subtle hints of warm biscuits. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, elegantly fleshy and fine-boned, with a generous core of fruit, racy acids and a nicely defined finish. It's quintessential Deutz.

Vinous
The 2009 Brut Millésimé Amour de Deutz is laced with white flowers, mint, white pepper and citrus peel, all of which give it terrific brightness and energy to play off the natural radiance of the year. Medium in body and aromatically deep, the 2009 has enough verve to develop nicely in bottle for many years to come. Overall, this is a relatively airy, understated Champagne for a year that generally produced more overt wines.
